From the moment Alfonso walked through the gates of San Jose State University he “hit the ground running”. First he made sure that he stayed on campus the entire day and treated school like a job. In spite of the demanding school work, he continued his restaurant work and his musical success as a bass player with a local mariachi band.
As he gained confidence in his course work as a Business major focused on accounting, Alfonso began the process of networking by joining campus business organizations and attending campus sponsored local businesses job fairs. Alfonso’s efforts paid off with excellent grades, numerous scholastic awards and summer internships at KPMG International after his freshman, sophomore and junior years.
With the help of summer school classes and his intense focus, Alfonso graduated a semester early in December 2021 and has now completed his requirements for his Certified Public Accountant license. Alfonso is now working at KPMG where he built a strong reputation during his summer internships.
